COVID Protocols (Updated 2/6/2022)

Masks/Face Coverings

  • Masks/face coverings are not required outdoors.
  • Masks/face coverings are encouraged in close contact areas, such as dugouts.
  • Players are allowed to wear face coverings on the field during game play.

Physical Distancing

  • Please limit physical contact to what is essential to play the game.

COVID Cases and Exposures

For players, we will use Santa Cruz City Schools guidelines. For adult volunteers, we will use CDC guidelines.

If a PLAYER tests positive for COVID:

  • The team does NOT need to quarantine.
  • The player is cleared to return once they have been cleared to return to school (after 5 days with a negative antigen test at a school-recognized lab, or after 10 days otherwise).

If a PLAYER is exposed to COVID:

  • If they are VACCINATED, they may continue to play.
  • If they are UNVACCINATED and the exposure occurred at HOME, they must quarantine for 10 days.
  • If they are UNVACCINATED and the exposure occurred at SCHOOL:
    • They may continue to play if they test twice weekly through a school-recognized lab.
    • If they choose not to test, they must quarantine for 10 days before returning.

If an ADULT VOLUNTEER tests positive for COVID:

  • The team does NOT need to quarantine.
  • The volunteer is expected to follow CDC guidelines for returning: They should isolate for 5 days, then if improving, they may return but must wear a mask for 5 additional days.

If an ADULT VOLUNTEER is exposed to COVID:

  • If they are VACCINATED, they may continue to volunteer.
  • If they are UNVACCINATED, they must quarantine for 5 days, then may return but must wear a mask for 5 additional days.
